Summer Fun

A beautiful summer day spent BBQing and swimming at Nanny and Grandpa's house. Blake did great in the pool again. And he had his cousin, Aiden, to show him how to swim.

Blake at 2 Months

Blake is 2 months old already, and we can't believe it! Our little man is really coming into his own. He is a very happy baby as long as he has had plenty to eat and plenty of sleep.

Blake had a doctor's appointment and 7 weeks, and his stats were astounding... He weighed in at 12lb. 6oz. which puts him in the 68 percentile for his age. And he was 24 inches long which puts him in the 96 percentile for height. USC football here we come!

Other cool new developments in Blake's world this month:
  • He is "cooing" up a storm. He loves to try to talk to Mommy and Daddy, and often the ceiling fan.
  • He is able to do a quarter turn, and get stuck on his side.
  • He loves to smile and laugh when you make faces at him.
  • He is trying desperately to figure out how to suck his thumb, but only finds it occasionally.
Here he is at 2 months

The Ducey Wedding

Our good friends, Nat and Melissa, tied the knot Saturday, July 27th. They had a beautiful ceremony at an estate in Fallbrook. Melissa did an amazing job personalizing her wedding, and truly thinking of every last detail. We had a wonderful time eating, drinking, and dancing the night away with many of our closest friends. And a special thank you goes out to Grandma for babysitting!

Independence Day

Fourth of July! And boy are we celebrating differently this year... I guess that's what a newborn will do to your social life. But we still had plently of fun.
We met up with our neighbors, Ian, Tracy, and Isla at our pool for the babies first swim. Blake seemed to mildly enjoy himself (or at least he didn't cry), and spent about 40 minutes in the water with Mom and Dad. Unfortunately, Isla didn't enjoy the water as much.
After the pool, we had a bbq at Ian and Tracy's home, and enjoyed some delicious burgers!

Blake at One Month

Current updates in Blake's world...
  • He is consistently only waking up twice a night. Which makes Mommy and Daddy very happy!
  • He smiles at familiar faces.
  • He knows Mommy and Daddy's voice and turns his head to look for us.
  • And occasionally we get a "coo".
Obviously we can see that Blake is quite advanced!
But all joking aside.. he has been a very good baby thus far, and it is so exciting to see every new change in his little personality and appearance. We are certainly enjoying each and every precious moment with our little man.

San Diego Visit

We enjoyed a Sunday visit down to San Diego at Chuck and Carolyn's home. This visit was made all the more special because Lesley, Olivia, and Isabella had flown down to meet Blake. Blake also got to meet Aunt Anna and Uncle John for the first time. Additionally, Carolyn's son Eric brought his family over and Enrique, Kristin, Alec, and Liam were also there. Needless to say, it was a full house! But also another reminder of how blessed we are as a family to have so many happy, healthy kiddos around.
